The Secret Organization is geared up to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the true confrontation won’t unfold until the third season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has just been cast.

The streaming service revealed recently that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Bon Clay. This character can use their power to transform into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve made contact with with their main hand. The actor, who is non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a version of that role re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the initial comic and anime.

Escola joins a number of recently announced actors set to bring the group to reality, including leader Mr. 0, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who will appear as the lineup as the monarch of the fictional land.

Though this character is a key figure of Baroque Works, the persona won’t appear until One Piece season 3. With the next season set to cover the Little Garden segment, this represents a significant shift in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest further changes to the story’s structure.

Their mix of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the role. Besides their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.

Netflix's live-action One Piece series is due to premiere for its season two on March 10, 2026.
