American entertainer Finn, who was seen in beloved television series including "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles on Monday following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per media reports.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones shared in a announcement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable TV Career

His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several well-known programs, including:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Outside of his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"He coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find anyone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.

Offering condolences, peer actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.

The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
