Real Madrid's Trent Alexander-Arnold Might Face Liverpool in Upcoming European Clash
The Spanish giants acquired Trent Alexander-Arnold on a six-year agreement
Trent Alexander-Arnold's rehabilitation is progressing according to plan, raising hope that the Madrid right-back could recover soon enough to face his previous club Liverpool in November's Champions League encounter.
The English international suffered a hamstring injury while playing against Ligue 1 club Marseille in the initial phase of the tournament on 16 September.
Alexander-Arnold was forced off the field in the fifth minute, with initial estimates suggesting a possible layoff of up to six weeks.
Real Madrid are scheduled to play at Liverpool on 4 November for the European fixture—just over a month since the injury occurred.
Reports close to the player's condition suggest that the defender's comeback is advancing positively, and there is optimism that Alexander-Arnold could achieve his initial return to Anfield after moving to Real Madrid in June.
A longtime Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold previously said that departing from the team he joined as a six-year-old youth talent was the "hardest choice he has ever made."
During his spell with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold accumulated over 350 games, contributing to secure two English top-flight championships, a European Cup, and the domestic cup.
After joining to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has featured on five occasions in all competitions, totaling over two and a half hours of game time.
