Los Angeles witnessed citywide celebrations after the Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series title. Supporters across the globe joined local residents in celebration, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a team has secured consecutive championships.
Victory Parade Attracts Massive Crowds
Local events included a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.
Social media videos depict thousands of Angelenos flooding downtown streets, many carrying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The squad was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the crowds, hoisting the championship trophy proudly.

However, the team owner received a cooler welcome at the rally. Recordings from the event seem to depict Walter walking onstage to a combination of cheers and jeers, with negative shouts punctuating his address.
The World Series acted as a positive moment in what has been a challenging year for the city. An estimated 225,000 people attended to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, fans this year demonstrated as much if not more enthusiasm.
“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
