Actor Refutes Anti-Vax Stance After Voicing Controversial Pandemic Documentary
The "Taken" star has provided his narration to a recent film that challenges the legitimacy of vaccinations and commends ex- government figure the political figure.
The Feature's Provocative Basis
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a bestselling book written by Judy Mikovits, who gained notoriety during the health crisis for claims that the virus was a result of a faulty batch of the influenza shot.
The publication's co-author, the executive producer, has previously authored books with far-right figure a known commentator. He recently posted hailing Neeson's involvement in the film.
A Strong Denial
Representatives for Neeson have released a response firmly refuting claims that he subscribes to anti-immunization beliefs.
"Everyone can understand that misconduct can exist within the pharmaceutical industry, but that should never be equated to opposition to vaccines," the response reads. "Liam has never been, and is not, anti-vax. His considerable work with the global charity underscores his consistent support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."
The response noted that the actor was not involved in crafting the film's narrative and that concerns about its assertions are best addressed to the producers.
Major Claims Within the Feature
As presented, the script read by Neeson features several controversial claims:
- It claims that pro-immunization voices have demanded "complete compliance" to public institutions.
- It posits that "science has become deeply politicized."
- Robert F Kennedy Jr is interviewed saying, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they just aren't properly vetted."
- The narration takes aim at Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused severe distress that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- On the topic of Covid vaccines, it cites a report that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."
Previous Background and Current Disputes
The film also references a historical film about HIV drug testing on children, which was later the subject of a formal apology by the broadcaster for unbalanced reporting.
In recent weeks, RFK Jr directed the CDC to revise its official position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is also referenced in the documentary, despite a fresh analysis from the global health body confirming no such link has been found.
A Previous Position of Support
Differing from the film's narrative, Neeson has in the past shown strong support for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.
In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "a remarkable human success story," noting that "The conversation about vaccines in recent years has lost sight of how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in human history."
"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's voice stating, "This marks not the end of our journey. This is the dawn of a fresh chapter."
